As an assignment in a Social
Studies methods class, I created a lesson plan using the book, The Courage
of Sarah Noble. The lesson plan was then presented to the class in
a presentation. This lesson plan can be used in a third grade classroom.
This lesson plan helped me learn how to integrate one lesson with curriculum
goals and objectives from more than one area of the curriculum. I
can use this lesson in a classroom to give my students practice with writing
and computer skills.
This lesson plan meets the competency goal 10.1
because I included goals from the computer skills curriculum for third
grade. This lesson plan also meets competency goal 10.4
because I correlated computer skills into a social studies lesson plan.
Competency goal10.5 is also meet because in
the lesson plan, students are asked to type a document, save, and then
print the document. This task meets one of the assessment goals for
computer skills curriculum. This lesson also meets competency goal
11.1
because students use technology for word processing.
