Artifact 4

      To show that I am capable of locating technology to help children with special needs, I located a web page that shares information as to what technology is needed for certain special needs in children. I used the internet to find my information because the most recent discoveries are more likely to be on the internet. This web page has a table that tells what technology can be used for different special needs. For example, a student that has a visional impairment can use a software program that magnifies the screen image. They can also use enlarged keylabel stickers on the top of keys on the keyboard. Both the stickers and the software will help students with visual problems be able to see well enough to use the computer.
       This web page will help me as a teacher because I learned how to use resources to locate information on helping students with special needs. In the event that a child with special needs enters my classroom I will be better prepared knowing where to find information on helping that child.
      This web page meets competency goal 13.2 because I learned how to use technology to help students with special needs learn. The web page labels technology tools to be used by students with special needs.    It also meets goal 13.4 because I used the internet as a resource to locate the information I needed in order to know what to do for students with special needs.
