Rationale for Artifact 10: List of Television Resources

Competency 10.2: Use school television resources that support the curriculum.

Context

I acquired these television resources from the Internet. I went to www.channelone.com, www.nick.com, www.dsc.discovery.com, www.biographychannel.corn, and www.teachworld.com. From these websites I was able to write a few sentences describing what each of them was about. I made a list of them and added footnotes with their coinciding web addresses.

Impact

As a teacher, I will need resources for my students to have access to, as well as myself. I know that these websites, along with television series, are clean and informative. It is a great way to see ahead of time,  what the shows will be providing so I can plan my lessons accordingly. It is also a great way for the students to become involved in current issues through fun games and exercises.

Alignment

The list of television resources aligns with the Technology Competency 10.2. I will be able to develop lesson plans utilizing school television resources and materials for better implementation of lesson plans. Television is an assessment tool to evaluate student's learning via school television resources.

Competency            The learner will use a variety of technologies to
Goal 3                     access, analyze, interpret, synthesize, apply, and
                               communicate information.
