Technology Reflection

Context:
Out of my own curiosity, I decided to interview the Technology Instructor at Mabel Elementary School, Fall of 2001, while in my internship. I used Microsoft Word to post my findings and a tape recorder to record the interview so I would have access to the conversation once I was ready to develop my information.

Impact:
I was concerned about the lack of computer and technology use within Mabel Elementary and decided to do some investigating on my own.  I explored what was available for student use and obtained that technology for use within the classroom.  I think that by exploring and gathering the information m yself, I gained pertinent knowledge about how to obtain the technology for classroom use.  After comparing  the students work while using technology to the work they did without it, I can honestly say that the work quality and   student involvement dramatically increased.

Alignment:
I reflected on the use of technology in the school during this interview and my capabilities of using technology for student work improvement (VB).  I think that in order for us to develop professionally, we must constantly make informed decisions about the use of technology and interactive materials.  We as teachers must strive to do what is best for our students, even if it a little help from someone else, or even a little of our precious personal time.
