Developmental Case Study: an on-line resource for teachers that describes characteristics of children grades K-6.

Context
This resource was composed in my curriculum and instruction class during my instructional block at Appalachian State University.

Impact
This resource is available on the web to provide information for teachers and parents.  As a web page this resource will be easy for parents and teachers to access for grades K-6.  Teachers will be able to use the web page to find out intellectual, physical, and social/emotional characteristics of different grade level children. The information provided will be able to help teachers understand their children and provide adequate care and instructional activities.

Alignment
The Developmental Case Study is a great example of how I understand how children learn and develop through their elementary school years. It provides information so that as a teacher I will be able to plan instructional time to support a child’s intellectual, social, and personal development. (INTASK 2) This resource will be able to be utilized in a school setting for other teachers, personal and students in the school. Children will be able to use this resource to find out information about their siblings or relatives. This site can help students understand the phases and the differences between different grade levels and other kids. (Tech Comp. 12.1) The developmental case study effectively and appropriately communicates information on students to colleagues and parents by allowing the information to be a web-page format. (Tech Comp.12.3) This web page can also be used as a way of informal assessment on children. The developmental study could be used to informally assess whethere a child is following the basic characteristics of that grade level. The web page also includes teacher tips for planning lessons and a good classroom environment tips that could be used to help a child. (INTASK 8)
