Name: Text Book Evaluation: an Internet site that provides a method of reviewing textbooks so that the appropriate ones can be chosen with the best resources and information needed to maximize student learning in the classroom

Context: I evaluated two different second grade social studies textbooks for my CI3110 class, a class that concentrated on methods of teaching social studies in the classroom to elementary students. I found the web site for textbook evaluation as a resource for teachers when deciding upon an adequate textbook from which to teach.

Impact: The textbook evaluation can be used by teachers when deciding upon a textbook to use in the classroom. The evaluation assists the teacher in ensuring that the proper textbook is chosen that contains the most beneficial characteristics and information.

Alignment: The social studies textbook evaluation allows the teacher to apply current research on teaching and learning with technology when planning learning environments and experiences (Tech Comp IIB). It also is a way to identify and locate technology resources and evaluate them for accuracy and suitability (Tech Comp IIC).
