Artifact 13: Sign Up Sheet For Computer Lab

Competency 14.2: “Ensuring equal access to media and technology resources for all students”

Context:

In class we thought about different ways that we could design a sign-up sheet for a computer lab.  I went to Microsoft Word and clicked on, “Table”, and then went to, “insert”, and from there I clicked, “table”.  The title of my table was, “Ms. Haulk’s Computer Lab Sign in Sheet.”  I had four columns for the students to sign in their name, time they signed in, time they signed out, and their computer number.  I had twenty rows and could have made many more depending on my class size.

Impact:

As a teacher I would need a sign in sheet so I will know what students have been on what computers and how much time that they spent.  This is important for a teacher because if something was missing I could see what children had been on that computer and what time they were there.  It is also important to have a sign in sheet to make sure that all my students get equal time on the computers and no one is left out.

Alignment:

I have met Competency 14.2 because I will be able to monitor the times that students have spent on a computer and make sure that all students get equal time on the computers.  This is important for me as a teacher so that all students get equal access to the media and technology resources.
