Textbook Evaluation

 Textbook Evaluation

Context: I did the Textbook Evaluation at Appalachian State University in Michael Jacobson’s social studies class during the fall of 2002. With a partner, I reviewed two different 2nd grade texts by different publishers.

Impact:  The textbook evaluation will help me teach because it shows that I can assess different books and choose the one that is right for the class. It shows how I can evaluate based on different criteria such as interdisciplinary organization, interdisciplinary mode, and analytical mode and question levels.

Alignment: The Textbook Evaluation meets competency II C because I have located and evaluated resources. It also aligns with INTASC principal 7 because it shows how I would plan instruction based upon knowledge, goals, and the community.
