 Inquiry Project

 Inquiry Project

Context: This inquiry project was created as a part of Pam Schram's CI 4000 class. It was included as a part of the coursework during my senior year in the elementary education program at Appalachian State University. It was created during the Fall of 2002. It is a website about Title One. My group researched this topic and did interviews at the schools that we are interning in.

Impact: This inquiry project is intended for anyone to use as a resource about the Title One programs. By creating this project, we hoped to provide a useful tool for anyone to get the information they are looking for. This project meets several of the NC Standard Course of Study.

Alignment: This assignment aligns with technology standard VI B because it allows children to control or take ownership of their own learning. By doing this project, children will find information about a topic by themselves and create a product on their own. This project aligns with INTASC principle 9 because we presented our website about Title One to the rest of our class. Before our presentation, other groups presented their projects as well. We learned about many different disorders such as ADD/ADHD, Learning Disabilites, ESL, etc. Through these presentations, I gained valuable information that will be helpful to me as a teacher. This also aligns with principle 10 because as a teacher, I know how to effectively communicate with parents of children with these disorders to best support the student's learning.
