Artifact 3: Lesson Plans for Teachers

Competency 13.4:  Use appropriate local, state, and national services or resources to meet diverse learning needs through technology.

Context

I have compiled several lesson plans for teachers using three different websites from the Internet that I can use in my future classroom.  One of these websites is the ERIC database: http://ericir.syr.edu.  “ERIC is a nationwide system of Clearinghouses and support agencies designed to help educators, librarians, and the general public keep up to date on education-related issues.”  I also used Internet Explorer and a search engine, www.dogpile.com, to search for other lesson plans.  These sites include: www.lessonplanspage.com and www.atozteacherstuff.com.  I searched these sites to find a lesson I could use in my classroom, and then I printed them out.

Impact

As a future teacher I need as many resources as possible.  The internet is a great source to find information for my students and for myself.  I now know three websites to use to find a plethora of information for my classroom.

Alignment

I have accessed a national database to search for lesson plans to use in my classroom.  I have met competency 13.4.  I can now use this database throughout my career as a teacher for information and suggestions for my classes.
