Media Web Page

Description: This web page was made to demonstrate that I can create a webpage.  It shows that I can use computer software properly and know what I can and cannot do.  This also shows that I can work with many types of technology.  This project allows me to show students that there are many types of media here with us today (11.4).  In this project I am teaching students about the many sections in a newspaper and how equally important they are.  We will concentrate more on the comics.  Here I will get the students on the internet and have them search for different types of comics and see what they come up with (10.3).  While they are on the internet I will help them understand that there are many different resources on here from the local, state, and national levels to help them in any way possible.  This way they all become somewhat familiar with the computer and how to use it.  One could add the television in with this lesson.  I could show the students how some comic strips you will see on TV and others you will not (10.2).  To finish up the product I will take my students to a newspaper office and have them sit with the male or female that draws the comics for the paper.
My lesson has integrated comic strips which children can relate to.  One of the main objectives to this lesson is to teach the children about chronological order and to show them things activities happen in a certain order for specific reason.  Within groups the children will be putting together their own newspaper  Each group will put together a different part of the paper.  Children will learn about chronological order by watching a television and using some sort of computer software.  Both of these forms of media are used in this project (11.1).  This lesson could go in a number of directions and can be expanded to be taught in higher grades up to fifth or maybe even sixth grade.
