Computer
Software Evaluation - This piece of software teaches a child phonics
and how letters fit together to form words.
Inquiry Project - This is a site to visit for new and recent teachers for information on classroom management concentrating more on LD and ADD (ADHD) students. From classroom set-ups to activities to lesson plans for all subjects and games to play. News Analysis Paper - News is very important in a child's life and they do not watch enough of it. A fun yet educational way to get them involved in the news is to have them analyze it. Breaking everything apart from the backdrops to the way stories are placed in order, this will definitely get them thinking. Social Studies Unit Plan - This is an excellant integrated lesson for a sixth grade class that is full of educational things to do. This will definitely keep your children busy and constantly learning. Portrait of a Learner - I would use this in my classroom some way or another. I think this is an excellant way to keep up with your child in the classroom and out. I would use this for a portfolio (a technology portfolio) in stead of one folder full of paper (art, graded papers, etc.). This will keep track of the social and academic aspects at school. Media Literature Project - This is a way to get younger children involved with the newspaper and the computer. They will learn about the different parts of a newspaper, specifically the comics, since they can relate better to the comics. This involves a field trip to a newspaper office. Bilingual Education and Special Needs - These are two things that we will run into as teachers. As teachers we must alter our lessons so we can fit all the diverse children in our classroom. Those who cannot speak English or have learning disabilities are two of the ones we must alter for. Databases (movies and books) - These databases are here for all teachers to use. The include movies and books that can be used in all subject classes. You can show your children how you find what they learn in class in everyday things, in what we read and watch. Classroom Set-Up, Centers, and Consent Forms - This area shows different ways in which you can set up your classroom to suit your childrens' learning styles. They include center positions, where to put them, and this area also shows one a consent form that can be used in a classroom to get parental consent to do certain things. Social Studies Textbook Analysis - Textbooks are important to use in the classroom, yet they are not used all that often. When using a textbook, you muat have one age appropriate and one that relates better for your age group, as far as pictures, information text, and high order questions. |
