Computer skills curriculum

During my senior year at Appalachian State University I did my internship in a kindergarten classroom.  I wanted to know what computer sills the children needed to know.  To find out what sills needed to be learned I looked on the DPI web site for computer Skills in the kindergarten classroom.  I wanted to know these goals so I could help the students achieve these skills and learn how to use the technology that is around them each day.  The Computer Skills goals for the kindergarten classroom come straight off the DPI's web page of the Standard Course of Study.  Using these goals enables me as a teacher to use these skills in my lesson plan so I can teach the students the sills they need to know.  As a teacher I want to teach my students sills that will be beneficial in the future.  Computers are becoming very important in our society and these skills will help my students succeed. This artifact fulfills competency 10.1.  I looked up the goals and objectives for computer skills in a kindergarten class.  I will now be able to use these goals in other lessons that I prepare to teach.
