While in by Block at Appalachian State University each of my classmates and I read twenty five books and entered them into a children's literature database. This database records the author, illustrator, title, publisher, copyright date, response, grade level, summary, and curriculum integration's. In my classroom I can use this database as a resource for learning about ways to use different books in the classroom. I can also find assessments of books, which will help me decide which books would be appropriate for teaching students who are learning at different levels. My students can also use this database as a resource. They can enter information and opinions about books they have read. This database meets competency goal
10.6
because I am able to view and assess many children's books. The database
also meets competency 13.1 because a computer
is used to document the assessments of different books. This artifact
also offers quick ways to find books for children on different learning
levels. Competency goal 12.1 is met with
this artifact because studnets are using technology to communicate their
opinions and analysis.
