Rationale for Media Literature Lesson Plan

While I was an in my block at Appalachian I, along with Jennifer Boggs, created a Media Literature lesson plan.  This lesson requires students to use technology, such as computers, to discuss and learn more about the effect store windows have on people.

As part of my internship I will teach this lesson to a fourth grade class at Mabel elementary school.  This lesson will allow me to teach the students about media while intergrating language arts curriculum.  Students will expected to use their writing skills to express what they know.  They will have a series of questions to answer in the form of a paragraph.  I will also be able to teach this lesson in my future classroom.

This lesson is specifically designed for students to become active participants (12.5).  Because the students are answering questions about this lesson this artifact meets competency goal 11.4.  They must discuss store windows as a group and be able to create their own store window.  This media lesson is intergrated with literature and therefore meets competency goal 12.7.  I developed this lesson as a webpage and therefore meet competency goal 12.3.
