Home Page | Computer Ethics
As a senior at Appalachian State University I took a Media, Literacy, and Technology course during by block. In this class, I developed a web page using a computer. I began to think differently about Computer Ethics due to the computer intensive work I had to perform to meet the course objectives. I found a useful web site on Computer Ethics. One was the Ten Commandments for Computer Ethics and the other site was developing an ethical compass for Worlds of Learning. These web sites would be good for parents, teachers, and students. This corresponds North Carolina Standard Course of Study with information skills These web sites can help teachers create lessons on computer ethics they could teach students in the classroom. The teachers and parents can teach what is acceptable or not unacceptable using computers. As a teacher, I know that students will be working with computers and this information would be helpful. The Ten Commandments for Computer Ethics will be posted in the technology center in my classroom. These two web sites deal with Computer Ethics. Students need to know what is acceptable and unacceptable when using a computer. Teachers can use these sites to develop lesson plans. This meets comptency (14.3). |
