During my internship at Appalachian State University I created a Portrait of a Learner video. My internship was at Mabel Elementary School located in Zionville, North Carolina.This artifact was produced to assess a particular student and track his progression. I learned about the strategies children use to learn and how to assess their knowledge. I videotaped my learner in a variety of academic settings and extracurricular activities.
The video helped me to see my student’s progression in academics and his response to his environment. This video could be viewed by future teachers to provide information regarding this particular student’s learning style. Parents could view the video to see how their child learns information.
This artifact satisfies competency (12.2),
because it is a collection of information based on a student’s learning.
