Literature Database

 Context:

This database was created by the Language Arts methods teachers and added onto in my language arts class during the Fall of 2002.   We had to read twenty children's books from a variety of genres and add them onto a database that is accessible through the web.

Impact:

This database is an excellent resource for teachers because it allows them to find many children's books on the web and learn about the context of the book. It will help me as well when choosing literature to read to my own class. Each database entry consists of a summary, instructional strategies to use with the book,  and a book rating by the reviewer. Also teachers are able to find books of any genre or reading level.

Alignment:

This database will assist me in quickly finding books that I can use in my classroom.  Therefore it corresponds with V-C because it shows technology making my job as a teacher less complicated.  This database has thousands of children's books saved in it's files therefore if I ever have a book that I want to find out more about I can simply go on-line and find this database and enter the title of the book in.
