PowerPoint Presentation

Context:

This artifact includes a handout displaying slides of the PowerPoint presentation entitled “Food is Fun”.  Two other students and myself designed this presentation.  Our subject was health and the food pyramid designed for the Kindergartner.  We used the PowerPoint program to add animation and sounds throughout the presentation.  We presented this presentation to the classroom.  Technology such as speakers mounted on the wall, a projector that projects to the large screen on the wall, and a touch screen.

Impact:

The PowerPoint program proves as a very useful resource for the classroom.  Not only does it add excitement to a lesson, it also may enhance information for more successful learning to occur.  PowerPoint will be useful for me in better reaching those students that have hearing/visual impairments.  Another benefit of the PowerPoint program is the possibility of assigning students to design and give a presentation of their own to the class.  This would work best with Third grade and older.

Alignment:

I have met competency 11.2 by using media and technology (PowerPoint) to present a subject so that it was comprehensible to others.  I have also met competency 11.4 by using technology to facilitate strategies specific to the discipline by presenting to the class on a subject age specific.  Competency 12.6 was also met by using a wireless technology to present information to the class.
