Designing an Accessible Computer Lab

Context:

This artifact includes a list of features to be used in designing a lab accessible to all students.  I used word processing for the list that is provided in this artifact.  As a class we broke up into small groups and discussed important features that would be included in designing an accessible computer lab.  As a large group we shared the lists that each small group had produced.  As this sharing took place each group added to their list.

Impact:

As a general education teacher I will have students with a variety of capabilities within my classroom.  Knowing how to provide completely accessible environments is an important aspect of being a teacher.  The list that I have created will benefit me in the future by providing a backbone of ideas for specific projects such as an accessible computer lab.

Alignment:

I have met competency 12.4 by participating in a full class activity of discussion and dialogue.  This artifact also meets INTASC principle 2 and 5.
