Grade Book Spreadsheet with Two Charts

Context:

Included in this artifact are two spreadsheets entitled, “Ms. McClenny’s Kindergarten Gold Star Week Chart”.  One includes the formulas and one does not.  Also included are two graphs designed with information from the spreadsheet and two letters to parents with these graphs inserted within the text.

Impact:

I will be licensed to teach Kindergarten through Fifth grades and during the course of my teaching career I will need to organize grades and other figures for my classes.  I feel confident in using Microsoft Excel in order to make spreadsheets and then make graphs from these spreadsheets.  I’m sure that this will prove to be a very useful organizational resource as a teacher.

Alignment:

I have met competencies 11.3, 12.2, and 12.5 by using technology-based tools to enhance the quality and efficiency with classroom information I will use as a teacher.  All of these activities have helped me in realizing the variety of methods to collect information through computers and technology. This artifact also meets INTASC principle 8.
