Artifact 2

This artifact includes a printout of a two-page newsletter written to parents of an upcoming school year. Use of Microsoft Publisher and a digital camera were included. Within the newsletter introductory information on myself is included along with tips on what to bring on the first day of school, classroom rules, a supply list, upcoming events, and parent volunteer information. Graphics such as clip art and a digital camera picture of myself are included within the newsletter as well.

Impact:

As a future teacher I look forward to keeping in complete and regular contact with the parents of my students. Being introduced to Microsoft Publisher and now feeling confident with the program will benefit me as I start my teaching career.

Alignment:

I have met competency 12.3 by using computers and other technologies to effectively and appropriately communicate information on student learning to parents in a newsletter format. This artifact also meets INTASC principles 9 and 10.
