Newsletter

Context:
Using Microsoft Word and a digital camera, I designed a newletter to send the parents of the 1st and 2nd grage students I was working with in my internship. The letter includes my expectations as well as wanted suggestions for my future work in the classroom. I also included a picture of myself as well as a brief personal note.

Impact:
As a teacher, I will want the parents of my students to know about myself as well as my expectations of the classroom and students. I want to be able to make conversation comfortable and open with the parents, being able to take any concerns and suggestions easily.  A newsletter is an excellent way for parents to be informed and reinforced on the procedures of the classroom.

Alignment:
The Technology Competency met as I created a newsletter was possible by using technologies effectively to communicate to parents and students. This will enhance my teaching abilities by setting my goals, plans, and procedures for the parents before their children enter the classroom (12.3).
