Newsletter

Context
I created a newsletter using Microsoft Publisher.  I designed this newsletter to send to the parents before the first day of school or orientation.  Microsoft Publisher takes you step by step through the process of making a newsletter, or any other like item.  In the newsletter, I introduce myself, tell about my vision for our class, and a little about my philosophy of learning.  I include a picture of myself, as well.  Our Class Rules are listed in the margin of the newsletter, along with contact information, and needed materials for the first day of class.  It also included upcoming events.  A newsletter will be sent to the parents each month, in order to help keep the parents up-to-date on what is happening in our class.

Impact
This artifact will be a one of the ways I plan to keep parents informed about what is going on in my classroom.  It is easy and fun to make, gives me a chance to be creative in my communications, and is informative to the parents.  I will use the skills learned by making this artifact each month as I create the next month’s newsletter.

Alignment
This artifact aligns with Technology Competency 12.3 because I used the computer, Microsoft Publisher, in order to create this newsletter.  It was designed to be a means of communication to the parents.
