Literature Database

B. Context
I created this Literature Database  during my Language Arts Class in the Spring of 2001.  I read twenty books from different genres and entered them into a children's literature database.  This database records the author, illustrator, title, publisher, copyright date, response, grade level, summary, and curriculum integration's.

C. Impact
In my classroom I can use this database as a resource for learning about ways to use different books in the classroom.  I can also find assessments of books which will help me decide which books would be appropriate for teaching students who are learning at different levels.  Students can also use this database as a resource.  They can enter information and opinions about books they have read.

D. Alignment
This database is a great tool to use because I am able to view and assess many children's books.  A computer is used to document the assessments of different books.  This artifact also offers quick ways to find books for children on different learning levels.  This artifact lends itself to using technology to communicate their opinions and analysis.  It will encompass these Competencies:

E. Technology
· 11.1 - This artifact demonstrates my ability to communicate using media and technology because it allows me to read many different kinds of books and write down my reactions and thoughts and save it on the web for others to review them.
