 Power Point Presentation

Competency 11.2:  Use media and technology to present the subject so that it is comprehensible to others.

Competency 11.4:  Use technology to facilitate teaching strategies specific to the discipline.

Competency 12.6:  Resources available including satellite cable, wireless, and ITFS (Instructional Television Fixed Service).

Context

This artifact was created in my Foundations 3100 class, Classroom Use of Microcomputers.  In a group of five people, we did a Power Point presentation on the topic of music.  We basically used it as an introductory lesson on what music is.  We used Microsoft Power Point to create the presentation.  We included sounds, animations, word art, text and hyper links.  We also created a bibliography page and a disclosure about the copyright laws and how they pertained to our presentation.   We then presented our presentation to the class using a wireless touch screen, and projected the images onto a screen with mounted speakers on the wall.

Impact

As a teacher, I will be giving presentations in class and I can use this Power Point to teach music in class.

Alignment

Power Point Presentation aligns with Competency 11.2 – I used a Sony projector and computer to present my presentation.  I also used a digital camera, and wall mounted speakers.
Competency 11.4 – I worked in a cooperative learning group and gathered information and presented it to the class.
Competency 12.6 – I used a wireless touch screen in my presentation.
