  Ethics Role Playing Activity

Competency 14.3:   “Social, legal, and ethical issues related to technology use.”

Context

This artifact was created in my Foundations 3100 class, Classroom Use for Microcomputers.  The class did a series of role-playing situations involving proper use of computers. One group focused on the fact that it is illegal to copy software.  We also received two handouts “Acceptable Use Policy Template” and “Valle Crucis Elementary School Policy on Acceptable Use of Computers”, and also a handout on netiquette.

Impact

As a teacher, I need to be a role model for ethics and also teach my students about what is ethical regarding the use of technology.

Alignment

Ethics Role Playing Activity aligns with Competency 14.3 – The class participated in a role playing activity involving illegal copying of software with a discussion afterwards. As a future NC public school teacher, I now know the proper netiquette to use and teach to my students.
