Grade book Spreadsheet With 2 Charts Competency 11.3 – Use technology based tools that are specific to the discipline. Competency 12.2 – Use computers and other technologies effectively and appropriately to collect information on student learning using a variety of methods. Competency 12.5 – Organizational and management strategies that support active student involvement, inquiry, and collaboration. Context This artifact was created in my Foundations 3100 class, Classroom Use of Microcomputers. I use Microsoft Excel to make a spreadsheet to use in my classroom. I included all of the following in my spreadsheet; test grades and averages, homework, class participation, project grade and the final grade. I weighted my grades in the final using the test grades as 60 percent, homework as 10 percent, class participation as 10 percent and the project grade as 20 percent. I also made two charts to show my data, one on the test grades and averages and one on the final grades. Impact As a teacher, I will have to average grades and now I can use a spreadsheet to help me organize this into an easy and convenient process.
