  Copyright Policy Discussion And Handouts

Competency 14.1:  Establish classroom policies and procedures that ensure compliance with copyright law, fair-use guidelines, security, and child protection.

Context

This artifact was created in my Foundations 3100 class, Classroom Use for Microcomputers.  In class we discussed different types of software and different types of software license and also the fair-use policy. I then word processed these notes using Micro Soft Word. We viewed a Power Point presentation on copyright and received a printout of the slides.  We also received two handouts “copyright in an Electronic Environment” which tells you what you can use in a report or presentation, and “Citing Electronic Resources in APA & MLA Style” which tells you how to properly cite Internet sources.

Impact

As a teacher I will be using Internet Sources and I should be a role model by abiding by the fair-use policy and copyright laws.

Alignment

Copyright Policy Discussion And Handouts aligns with Competency 14.1- as a future NC public school teacher; I now know what the copyright laws are and how not to break them.
