Modern Fashion and Invention
Context
This artifact is a web page that may be used as a tool for teaching
students how to use the internet to demonstrate their knowledge in the
classroom. I created a web page that is a model for what is expected
of students. I chose an object and came up with a creative and new
invention for this unique object. Within my artifact, there is a
master page, teacher page, student page, and example page. The master
page explains the project, the teacher page will assist other teachers
on ways of constructing a similar lesson, the student page explains directions
to students, and the example page provides an example to use as a resource.
The purpose of this artifact is to give students an opportunity to work
hands-on with an activity. Students use technology through creating
the web page and using digital cameras to take photographs to place on
the web page.
Impact
This artifact will have great impact on students. Students will
use their imagination by creating a new invention for a unique object.
Students will use technology through computer skills by using digital cameras
and creating the web page. Modern Fashion and Invention is a fun
way to bring imagination, creativity, and technology to students all at
one time. Students will have fun and learn at the same time.
As a future teacher, I will constantly be looking for activities such as
Modern Fashion and Invention as a means of integrating technology, writing,
and creativity into my classroom.
Alignment
This artifact aligns with competency 10.5
because
it allows students to become familiar with technology and how it can be
used within the classroom. Students will understand the computer
skills assessment through the technology used in their classroom.
Students may use Modern Fashion and Invention as a tool for working with
technology in the classroom.
Alignment with INTASC Standards
This artifact aligns with INTASC
2 because the teacher supports student's intellectual, social, and
personal development by allowing students to complete a web page that will
allow the teacher to evaluate student performance.
This artifact also aligns with INTASC 6 because the teacher uses knowledge of effective verbal, nonverbal, and media communication techniques to foster active inquiry, collaboration, and supportive interaction in the classroom. Modern Fashion and Invention allows students to become more involved in the classroom by using their imaginations, creativity, writing, and technology together in one activity.
This artifact also aligns with INTASC 8 because it provides teachers means for assessment in many ways. Assessments can be made through this artifact by observing and reviewing student's finished work. This type of assessment will help the teacher ensure continuous intellectual, social, and physical development is taking place with the students.
