Lesson Plans for Teachers

Context
This artifact is a printout of three different lesson plans from three different web sites from the Internet.  I went to Internet Explorer then went to my first web site,  http://askeric.org.  Eric stands for Educational Resources Information Center.  It is a federally funded, national information system.  Once on this web site, I went to lesson plans, then alphabet.  I found a really good lesson plan on teaching how to identify letters from the alphabet.  I printed this lesson plan out to put in my portfolio.  The following is a quote from the ERIC web site.  “ERIC is a nationwide system of Clearinghouses and support agencies designed to help educators, librarians, and the general public keep up to date on education related issues.”
For my second lesson plan, I went to http://www.teachnet.com. This web site has different lesson plans for all grades and subjects.  On this web site, I went to the Technology category for elementary students.  I printed a wonderful lesson plan on how to describe the Internet to elementary students.
For my final lesson plan, I went to http://www.learnnc.org.  I really love this web site.  It has many lesson plans that would be wonderful to use in my classroom in the future.  I went to lesson plans for the 1st grade.  I wanted a lesson plan dealing with mathematics.  I chose to print a lesson plan dealing with Daily Estimation to put in my portfolio.

Impact
I am going to be licensed to teach grades K-6 in North Carolina.  I will need many lesson plans during my teaching career.  I can use these three lesson plans in my future classroom.

Alignment
By printing these three lesson plans, I have met competency 13.4 of the Advanced Technology Competencies for Educators.  As a teacher, I will need many lesson plans.  I now know that there are many resources available through technology that will help me once I begin teaching.

Alignment with INTASC Standards
This artifact meets INTASC 7 because teacher plans instruction based upon knowledge of subject matter, students, the community, and curriculum goals.  Lesson plans help keep the teacher, principle, and possibly substitute teachers informed on what should be being taught in the classroom.  Lesson plans inform of how the lesson aligns with curriculum goals.
