PowerPoint Presentation

Context 
I worked on a PowerPoint presentation with a group of 4 classmates and myself.  We chose the topic Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.  We used Microsoft Power Point to make our presentation.  We used a digital camera to take our pictures to put in our Power Point.  We also used clip art, sounds, and text boxes, to add to our presentation.  In our presentation, we used a Sony LCD data projector that is mounted to the ceiling.  This projector is wired to a computer.  There are also speakers mounted on the wall that allowed us to add sound to the presentation.  We used wireless technology to present our presentation.  In our classroom, we had a touch screen that allowed us to operate the screen for the  projector.

Impact
 I am going to be licensed to teach grades K-6 in North Carolina. It is important to use technology to present information to my students.  A Power Point presentation is a great way to keep the students involved in the presentation.  It gives them something to look at while I am teaching. 

Alignment
 Artifact 12 aligns with the previously discussed competencies.  It aligns with 11.2 because I worked in a group to present a Power Point presentation by using technology.  We used a computer, data projector, touch screen, and a digital camera in our presentation.  Competency 11.4 says to “Use technology to facilitate teaching strategies specific to the discipline.”  In our group we used the computer and Internet to look up information on our topic, make our presentation, and present it to the class.  Finally, this artifact aligns with competency 12.6 because we used wireless technology and a touch screen to present our presentation.
