Lesson
Plans Integrating Technology
Context
This artifact is lesson plans that use integration technology.
I worked with a partner and we chose a piece of software (ReaderRabbit)
that we could use in our classes in the future. We designed a lesson
around this software. Our lessons are designed to teach how to form
sentences using words. Our lessons would be taught over 5 days and
are descriptive enough so someone could read them and teach the class by
just reading our plans. We developed our lesson plans and then processed
them using Microsoft Word. We then printed out our lesson plans so
we could use them one day in our classes.
Impact
I am going to be licensed to teach grades K-6. It is important
to use integration in the classroom. I now know how to integrate
technology into my lesson plans as a future teacher. I also understand
how important it is to make lesson plans descriptive enough so someone
could teach my class by just my lesson plans. I know there will come
a day when I need a substitute teacher and I now know how important it
is for me to explain in detail what I want my students to be learning.
This way the class will not get behind in learning and have to catch up.
Organization also makes it easier for the substitute teacher to keep control
over the class. He/She would not have to spend time wondering what
needed to be accomplished that day or where to find materials.
Alignment
This artifact aligns with competencies 10.4, 11.1, and 12.7 for the
following reasons:
10.4- We incorporated computer
skills into our lesson plans.
11.1- We related our lesson plans to
a technology resource (ReaderRabbit
software).
12.7- We selected learning experiences
that were appropriate for curriculum
goals
relevant to the learners grade level.
