Artifact Eleven: Summary
of NCCTM Conference and NCCTM Conference
A. This rationale includes three different parts. The first part is the website for the North Carolina Council of Teacher of Mathematics. This rationale is also a summary of my expereince at the NCCTM (North Carolina Council of Teacher of Mathematics) conference this year. Finally, it is also a copy of the cover of the program for this year's NCCTM conference, which was held in Greensboro, North Carolina. B. I created this document my senior year at Appalachian State University. For the math portion of my Block classes, I was given the opportunity to visit the NCCTM conference this year. When I went to the conference, I obtained a program of events for the duration of the conference. I scanned the cover of this program into this telefolio using a scanner, as well as Adobe Photoshop to adjust the size of the picture. When I returned from the conference, I used Microsoft Word to write a summary about my experience at the conference. C. I found my trip to this conference to be very useful to me as a teacher. I learned the many different aspects of being a teacher and keeping up with your teaching certification. I have never been to a teacher's conference before, so I was not sure what to expect. Attending conferences such as this one will help me to continually develop as a teacher. D. This rationale meets Technology Competency V- A because it uses the NCCTM website to find out various information about the sources that are available to teachers, such as conferences that are being held. This website gives me enormous amounts of information that will allow me to begin to grow as a teacher. It also meets INTASC Principle Nine
because if used correctly, the information that this artifact provides
will enable me to grow professionally as a teacher.
