Artifact Seventeen: Permission Slip To Use The Internet

A. This artifact is a permission slip to send home to the parents of students, giving the students permission to use the Internet for classroom use.

B. I created this artifact during my senior year at Appalachian State University to include in my telefolio. I made this document using Microsoft Publisher, and included the options of the parents and a place for the signature of the parent.

C. When I am a teacher, I plan on introducing my students to the valuable information that can be found on the Internet. Before I do this, I will send this permission slip home to the parents, so that they are aware of what we will be doing while searching the WorldWide Web. I will make sure that the parents know that it is completely up to them whether their child participates in the search of information through the Internet.

D. This rationale meets Technology Competency VI- D because it makes the parents aware of the technology that we will be using in the classroom to come up with sources to support our discussions and projects. It promotes a safe way of using technology and the Internet in my classroom.

It also meets INTASC Principle Number Ten because it provides a source of communication to the parents of the students in my classroom. It allows the parents to be apart of what happens in my classroom.
